First and foremost, these visually impaired people need to present themselves as confident as the normal people would have. They need to show the world that they too can be as competent as others. If they have the brain and skills, use it to proof to the society that they can be threats to the working society as well. Most of these less fortunate have a very low self esteem, hence family and friends play the most important role to support them mentally and physically.
Second, the society. What we can do to help them live a better life? By not judging them because of their imperfection. No one's perfect, Treat them as they should be treated without being judgmental.
As for government, employers and blind association, these are my suggestions:- They could provide more technological innovations for the blinds such as screenreader, speech synthesizer, refreshable Braille display, notetakers, and even a talking GPS system which would compliment their disability. By this way, they won't be needing help from others to run their daily duties.
Other than that, Organizations should eliminate the discrimination of less fortunate's culture in their company which could help the blind feel more comfortable and confident at the work place. How to eliminate discrimination culture? By giving the less fortunate the opportunity to handle big projects or even have a leader of a blind man and such.
They are normal people just like us. They have the talent just like us, the only thing they need is acceptance, faith and opportunities from us. ;)
