Dear Me

I've read a book by J.K Rowling. She compiled all letters written by famous people to their 16 y/o self. It's inspiring. In a way of asking you to reflect your life decision and your life as a whole up to this point. So here goes :)

Dear young Self,

You're probably sound asleep in your dorm with your handphone stucked between your crotch right now. Waiting for it to vibrates. Vibrate from text alert tho or a call. You were as pure as bio-pure water filter back then. These are my advices to you. Listen. I know you're stubborn as hell, but just listen. And think about it when the times come:

1) please say no sometimes. It could save you from a lot of regrets and mistakes in the future. Trust me. This is the most crucial life skill you need to master from young. Don't worry about offending other people's feeling or afraid of getting stuck in an awkward post-rejection moment. Tbh, they're not even that offended when you say no. Man up!

2) your first love? Yeah it feels like heaven when you're in love. Just don't get too brokenhearted when you find out it's not as pure as you think. Trust me, this guy is nothing compared to what you'll be served with later in life ;)

3) stay open and friendly, you'll meet alot of great people and experience alot of great things, but be strict! Set your boundaries. Know how to differentiate people with good and bad intentions

4) Boys. Be picky! Don't just settle. Trust me, there are alot of good decent guys who'd die for you.

5) Flirt around, use your god given charms to just have fun and be more demanding rather than go with the flow. Take control once in awhile.

6) When you get to uni, please absorbed all the knowledge as much as possible. Be interested! Be hungry for knowledge!

7) The most important advice; you'll meet few really good men. Treat them well. Coz they deserved it. Don't break their hearts.

8) know what you want and dont be afraid to say it out loud and demand for it. Trust me, it'll make your life waaaaay easier.

9) Lastly, YOU have the power to choose. So choose wisely.

10) For the rest, you pretty much excel in everything you do. Keep that confidence, adventerous, spontaneious, curious george attitude, it'll get you to places 😉

Love,
27 y/o Q*- yes, you'll be known by your recently-invented-nickname-thanks-to-your-favourite-english-teacher more than your real name. Deal with it.
